14A – Halfway Reflection
A behavior I have developed to keep up with this course is starting to frequently use a planner to map out due dates.
Due to my other courses and organizations, sometimes I get really stressed with balancing everything. Towards the beginning of the class I was doing poorly on cupcakes and balancing that with the blog posts and other assignments I had. Once I started mapping out study time in my planner, it helped me organize and prioritize. Due to this, I definitely feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude through this course.
The three tips I would give students next semester taking this course:
1. Get a planner. It is a lifesaver. Planning out your extracurriculars and assignments will allow you to organize and utilize your time better.
2. Take suggestions and help from friends. Sometimes your biggest motivators are right in front of you. Looking around you at friends and family will allow for better brainstorming and creativity when completing the assignments, and good friends will help you stay on track.
3. Take breaks. You do your best work when you give your brain time to relax.

Hi Sara;
ReplyDeleteI also felt overly stressed at the beginning of the semester because I did not map my study times. Like you, I also did poorly on the very first cupcakes. Thus, I decided to plan and commit to a study plan. Since then, I have done great in the cupcakes and have not missed any deadline. I believe the work is simple; we only have to plan and organize ourselves, and most important: commit to our study plan! I hope you can keep on being organized on your studies here at UF! Go Gators!
Hi Sara, I like your halfway reflection, it is very similar to my own. It’s always stressful starting a new class and having that period of adjustment to get used to completing the assignments and the expectations. I too created a weekly schedule to complete my assignments on time and to be proactive in the class. The first week or two I devote a lot of time to each class trying to push the learning curve, so I can get organized for each class and stay in front of my assignments.
ReplyDeleteHello Sara,
ReplyDeletePlanners are essential for succeeding in this course and college overall. Whether it be a digital or physical planner, they are necessary. I had a rough time keeping track of my classes and activities freshmen year because I tried keeping track of everything in my head. It did not work very well. I inevitably missed some assignments and was late to some functions because of it. TLDR: Get a planner, it will be a life saver, trust me.
