21A – Reading Reflection No. 2
The book that I read was "The Art of Social Media: The Power Tips for Power Uses".
1.The general theme of the book was to get people to be more cognizant of their social media accounts. Your accounts are representations of you, make them professional, but still able to showcase your personality and talents in a. positive manner.
2. The book connected back with ENT because it really targeted marketers and how to gain attention based on putting out quality content. This relates to the pitches we do, getting on the best content to our audience, while being concise, just like a post on a social media platform.
3. Have the class choose either to make a profession Wordpress or Weebly or some other sort if free website designer, and have each person in the class design it to showcase their special skills. This not only ensures that they attained the knowledge in the book, be also leaves them with an extra something for their resume.
4. One part of the book that surprised me, and probably most of the population my age, was the fact that a selfie was not an appropriate profile picture for a social media platform. I looked at most of my friends instgrams and most profile pictures are selfies.

Hi Sara;
ReplyDeleteYour post does a great job on reflecting “The Art of Social Media” book. I have also read this book and have found the exercise you built fascinating. Designing a professional Wordpress or Weebly website could sure add something to our resume. It is also great that you were able to be aware that a selfie is not appropriate when it comes to profile pictures of social media platforms. I think that it is just more challenging to show professionalism through selfies, as opposed to having a shot that is more professional. Go Gators!
Hello Sara,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you picked a book that really resonated with you. I also like how you connected it with the class in a very new way that I did not expect. I had read the book on finding success from your failures and thoroughly enjoying it. If you want a book that gives you an inspiration to keep pushing yourself no matter how many times you fall, I highly recommend it. Keep up the good work!
